Death Penalty Calculations
Hi
Yeah, I know, a newbie question. I'm back after about a 2 year hiatus and I have this burning question. I have not been able to locate the answer anywhere, so if it is here, please direct me there, or even better, answer it here. How is the death penalty calculated? I have a character that has 301 hp. On a recent quest, I found I had 60%DP. I also found that out of my 301 hp, only 25 were left ???!!!!! Not a fan of 'new math' but really - this formula seems to be very elusive. Any direction would be muchly appreciated. Ima |

Basically you lose however many percent of your max from your health/energy. So if you had 100 health you would have 75 health at 15%. I am not sure how you got 25 health....at all unless you where running multiple superiors (like a 55 monk) then you should never reach 25. With 301 you should have had like 120 health.

Let's say you had 240 health, before any runes, and you use two major runes of your profession and a major vitality. 240*0.40=104 104+41 (vitality run)=145 145-100 (two major runes) = 45 remaining health. Not your exact situation, but you should get the idea. That's the reason a 55 monk has 1 health after he dies. |

BulletStopper is 100% right though in that DP goes off your base health, not your health when, for example, you enter a zone. |

Thank you everyone - except the flamer!!
Yeah, actually, I have superior runes (2), maj. vigor and then Vitae. I did not know that it was calculated pre-mod and I really appreciate the information. FYI to the person who suggested better armor -- I am working on it. I'm one of the few people who likes to play the game in order rather than running to Droks first chance I get, so I have a few pieces that are 61 from the local collectors (Ranger) and am just looking for the leggings to go with them. You have all been really helpful and it helps restore my faith in human nature. |

Just to let you know, your ranger leggings armor 61 are in The Falls area.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...Maguuma_Jungle You'll need either 5 jungle troll tusks or 5 jungle skale fins.
